RULES FOR ONLINE DANCE COMPETITION- 

INFERNO DANCE COMPETITION- ONLINE- WITH A DONATION GOING TO BLACK MINDS MATTER AND THE NSPCC.

Registration for our online competition

Online Registration: Entries must be submitted through via our email address infernodanceuk@gmail.com

Payments and Fees: All entry fees must be paid via our online registration, which can be completed through a Paypal account or a bank transfer. You are not considered officially registered until we have received PAYMENT IN FULL. If you have not paid, you will not be entered.

SCHEDULES WILL BE ISSUED AT LEAST 10 DAYS BEFORE THE EVENT.

Entry Types- Solo: 1 performer

Duet/Trio: 2-3 performers

Small Group: 4-9 performers

Large Group: 10-19 performers

Production: 20+ performers


Age Divisions- The average age should be worked out for each solo/duet/trio/group.

-In the event that a protest regarding age occurs, all competitors must be prepared to present proof of age.

Age categories-

TINY: 3-7 years old

MINI: 8-10 years old

JUNIOR: 10-12 years old

TEEN: 13-15 years old

SENIOR: 16-19 years old

Adult: 20+ years old


 TIME LIMITS- points will be deducted for running over.

Solos: 2:00 minutes

Duo/Trio: 2:45 minutes

Small Group: 3:00 minutes

Large Group: 4:00 minutes

Production: 5:00 minutes

Dance Categories

Acro: Routine that combines classical dance technique with precision acrobatic elements.

Ballet: Routine that includes classical ballet steps and technique. Soft shoes only.

Contemporary: Routine that combines both lyrical and modern movements.

Cheer/Pom dance: Routine that contains strong movements and elements of cheer dance

Hip-Hop: Routine that includes street dance styles performed to hip-hop music or that have evolved as part of hip-hop culture.

Modern/Jazz: Routine that consists of jazz and modern technique.

Lyrical: A dance that fits to lyrics and uses expression and emotion.

Musical Theatre/Song and Dance: Routine that features any style of dance and vocals from a production or movie musical.

Open: Routines in this category can either be a combination of multiple genres or ones that may not fall into any other dance division.

Pointe: Routine must include classical ballet pointe technique. Pointe shoes only.

Tap: Routine must include tap technique and primarily tap work. Please no pre-recorded tap sounds in music.

Vocal: Singing a song of any genre with no lead vocals.



LEVELS ARE NOVICE AND COMPETITIVE.

Novice:  This level is for beginning dancers who have little or no experience competing. Entries will be adjudicated and will receive High Score Awards within this level. This division is not eligible for Title Awards.

Competitive: This level is for experienced dancers or those who do not wish to enter into the novice level. All competitive entries will be adjudicated, eligible for all awards and to compete in the Title Division.




Awards- All judge’s critiques will be available within a week of competition. Please note that all scoring is FINAL. Scoring and critiques are given from our esteemed panel of judges, which may vary from event to event.


Scoring- 100 points per judge.

290-300 points: Diamond Award

286-289 points: Platinum Award

280-285 points: Gold Award

270-279 points: Silver Award

270 points and below: Bronze Award


Judges each score out of 100 points:

25 points: Performance

25 points: Choreography- Please indicate who the piece was choreographed by as we have a young choreographer of the year award.

25 points: Technique

25 points: Music- The music fits in the time limit and contains no explicit content.

 Awards:

Every competitor will receive a medal.

There will be a trophy per category.

There will be a top 10 per age and level.

Mr and Miss title awards per age for competitive levels.

Judge’s awards are given out during each award ceremony and are created by the judge’s, for a routine of their choice.

Young choreographer of the year- a student choreography award

Teacher of the year- an award for outstanding choreography and technique shown in a piece.

FEES-

Solos-   £8 per routine

Duet/Trio (2-3 performers) £6 per daner

Small Group (4-9 performers) £4 per dancer

Large Group (10-19 performers)               £4 per dancer   

Production (20+ performers) £3 per dancer

Title awards £5

Costume award £5         

All contestants grant permission for INFERNO DANCE UK to show routines via zoom and our Instagram page.

NO REFUNDS will be issued.

Sportsmanlike behaviour is expected at all times. Failure to do so could result in immediate disqualification.

Admission is free to spectators.
